Service Description

Exploring the Lake District in winter by walking along hidden paths and finding secret tarns for us to immerse ourselves will definitely invigorate all of your senses and be an outstanding experience. With any cold water swimming you need to respect the water and listen to your body. The weekend will be lifeguarded by Dave, local OW Swim coach and guide Emma, from “Adventures with Emma”, and Coach Heather from “Pool2Lake”. Friday’s first swim will be a night cold water swim / dip with glow sticks. Totally new experience swimming in cold water and under the starry night. FUN!!! Followed by a warm meal to warm the cockles of your heart! The meal is included in the cost. Saturday morning breakfast at our walk location depending on air temperature and weather or at your accommodation. The accommodation comes with your own fridge and kettle to make some flasks before you set off. Coniston will be our playground for the morning with the beautiful setting. We will set off for a lovely walk to a gorgeous small body of water above Coniston, where we may find some ice dipping fun (weather dependent!), then a walk back down to the cars and an opportunity for a second dip if wanted in Coniston water, with a view to and the famous Peel Island (Wildcat Island) can be visible from the famous Swallows and Amazons book and film. Lunch and an opportunity to warm up in front of the roaring open fires at the Black Bull Pub in Coniston who serve a lovely warming food menu as well as hot drinks. After lunch, to get us out of the warmth and wake us up again, we will head to the home of Beatrix Potter, Far Sawrey, and a lovely walk and option to dip at a gorgeous tarn. Saturday evening meal will be at the lovely Shelia’s kitchen in Ambleside after a lovely warm shower and a cup of tea. Sunday Winter swimming brings a differ atmosphere so we will start our swim with a sound bowl and an opportunity for gratefulness before engulfing the vastness of Grasmere, before saying our farewells and goodbye before heading home (via a café in Ambleside if you have time!). A £50.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to secure your swim place. The £50.00 will be off set on final payment. Full payment paid 6weeks before swim adventure. Outstanding balance is non refundable but every attempt will be made to try fill the swim space.

Cancellation Policy

Booking Terms and Conditions 1. All group pool classes are pre-booked and paid for in advance as part of a half term block (in line with the local school term timetable). No missed classes/unused sessions can be carried over to the next term, unless it is due to medical reasons. However, clients are welcome to make up their missed class in another suitable class, subject to the instructors prior approval and having space within the class 2. Our open water classes & getaways all require some flexibility due to weather, so we might have to make changes. We will ensure the changes have minimal impact and we will inform you as soon as possible. 2. If a refund is done, it will be subject to a 5% charge (with a minimum of £1). 3. For any pre-booked pool or open water swim session that you fail to attend, you will be charged the full session amount. 4. We regret if there is insufficient demand for the trip / course or the minimum number is not met we have the right to cancel it. If we do have to cancel, we will tell you as soon as possible and you will receive a full refund. 5. If pool2lake has to cancel any pool, open water or swimrun classes, you will receive a full refund or the fee will be transferred to another date.
