Service Description

A day at the seaside to learn! Always respect the sea but learn how to enjoy it safely. After the course we can have use of a hired beach hut for fish and chips with a cuppa tea. What is covered in the 6 hour course? THEORY TRAINING Essential First aid – CPR – AED Use – Unconscious casualty – Shock – Hypothermia – Learning about the beach environment , tides , waves , winds , currents Planning an open water swimming trip Essential Equipment Wetsuit / Types Safety & Lifesaving Rescue techniques PRACTICAL TRAINING How to safely enter the cold water What to do if you get into difficulty What to do if you see someone in difficulty How to self rescue and rescue others safely How to alert the emergency services How to escape a rip How to treat hypothermia Scenarios The Theory & practical aspects of the course will take place at the Crampton Museum in Broadstairs, then we will head to Viking bay beach Broadstairs which is sheltered by the elements making a good training venue. Our training team are highly qualified , from RLSS beach lifeguards to RNLI lifeboat crew members all professionals and highly experienced water users, we have all angles covered to give you the best education. What is included - Sea safety course - Beach hut for after our course to enjoy tea and fish & chips What is not included - All meals and snacks - Travel and parking NO REFUNDS - you will be given a voucher which is valid for 1 year Available to 16 years plus

Cancellation Policy

Booking Terms and Conditions 1. All group pool classes are pre-booked and paid for in advance as part of a half term block (in line with the local school term timetable). No missed classes/unused sessions can be carried over to the next term, unless it is due to medical reasons. However, clients are welcome to make up their missed class in another suitable class, subject to the instructors prior approval and having space within the class 2. Our open water classes & getaways all require some flexibility due to weather, so we might have to make changes. We will ensure the changes have minimal impact and we will inform you as soon as possible. 2. If a refund is done, it will be subject to a 5% charge (with a minimum of £1). 3. For any pre-booked pool or open water swim session that you fail to attend, you will be charged the full session amount. 4. We regret if there is insufficient demand for the trip / course or the minimum number is not met we have the right to cancel it. If we do have to cancel, we will tell you as soon as possible and you will receive a full refund. 5. If pool2lake has to cancel any pool, open water or swimrun classes, you will receive a full refund or the fee will be transferred to another date.
