Start your open water journey safely and with a fabulous start. The water temperature will still be cold, so it's important to understand swimming in cold water safely. There is a warm friendly face to meet you at the lake and I share with you everything to do with open water swimming. - Where to sign in at reception. - How to enter the water and adjust your breathing. - Acclimatising to the cold water. - Understanding how long you should be in the water for. - How to put on a wetsuit. You can even do a "try before you buy" with a 2XU wetsuit. - Acclimatising and making sure you feel comfortable swimming in a wetsuit. - Simple tips and guidance to make the experience even better. - Adjusting your stroke if needed. - Understanding how to swim with a wetsuit. - Learning the open water techniques like sighting. Hopefully conquer any open water fears. The aim of the session is to give you a good transition to the open water and allow your swim journey to begin and grow with confidence. How fit should you be? As the pools have been closed, our swim fitness is zero. You should be able to tread water comfortably. You should be able to swim 250m of your stroke in the pool without stopping pre restrictions. Kit - Goggles - Bright colour swim cap - Wetsuit - Flip flops - Swim towel - Warm clothes for after your swim - Dry bag for wetsuit after swim Lake Entry at Denham - £7.00 is included in the price NOWCA bands are required. Tea and coffees are available for post swim celebrations. On the weekends the bacon and vegetarian rolls are simply delicious!!!
Booking Terms and Conditions 1. Our open water classes & getaways all require some flexibility due to weather, so we might have to make changes. We will ensure the changes have minimal impact and we will inform you as soon as possible. 2. Any cancellations of pre-booked swim sessions must be via email at least 24 hours in advance of the session start time. Where possible we will transfer the session to a different slot. 3. For any pre-booked swim session that you fail to attend, you will be charged the full session amount. 4. We regret if there is insufficient demand for the trip / course or the minimum number is not met we have the right to cancel it. If we do have to cancel, we will tell you as soon as possible and you will receive a full refund. 5. If any pool, open water or swimrun classes have to be cancelled due to COVID you will receive a full refund or the fee will be transferred to another date.
